For the past ten years, Marijka.com Designs has been the freelance face for Marijka Hambrecht. It has been an exciting time to be a web designer.

I can't imagine a field that would better suit my dual passions of art and technology. The ever changing nature of the Internet keeps me learning and growing. There is always more to know.

Designing a product for both a client and an audience requires a special balance and awareness of needs, of learning styles and most importantly of goals. Form, function, architecture, accessibility and standards are the heart of my work.

I believe that to create a quality site requires care and personal investment. A good site designer can simultaneously see the big picture and the small details and keep them all in the perspective of the end user. Organization and meaning are critical to understanding and in turn understanding leads to usability. I view my role as a creator of little pockets of theme, meaning and understanding.

Marijka.com will always be a work in progress, much like the Internet. I hope you enjoy this little pocket of meaning.
